Kaliningrad will participate in the Russian pilot project on electric cars
The Kaliningrad region is among the six pilot regions to implement a new program to support electric cars in Russia. The Ministry of Economic Development has formulated the first parameters of the electric transport development concept worth more than 400 billion rubles ($6 billion). It aims to increase share of the electric cars up to 15% of the market by 2030.
The concept implies to build more than 20 000 charging stations for electric cars by 2024, and by 2030 the number should increase to 150 000. The infrastructure will be built based on a minimum of one station per ten electric cars (in populated areas) or per 100 kilometers (for federal highways).
